Curricular degree internships
External internships are the first contact of students with the professional world linked to their educational process.
Curricular internships are designed to be academic activities integrated within the degree syllabus. They aim at facilitating the application of acquired skills into the working environment. Ultimately it is one more subject and, as such, it must meet certain quality criteria approved by the Internship Commission of the Faculty, and be supervised and assessed by the teaching staff of the centre. In this sense, not any company or any internship may be part of this programme - only those duly approved by the Faculty may be part of it.
In our Faculty, agreements with different public administration institution and numerous companies from the social, educational and historic-cultural areas regulate these internships.

Interaction between a proper theoretical and practical training is the fundamental basis any competences, skills and abilities acquisition process, basic for graduates of Applied Sociology to perform well professionally, is settled on. This concern has led to the focus on the methodology area of the degree design, and to the inclusion of external internships in the training itinerary, since the latter are the best path to synthesise the cognitive and experience dimension with the more theoretical elements related to basic, methodological knowledge, and the different aspect linked to professional learning, within a professional context. Ultimately, the goal is to foster students’ labour insertion and employability.
